Gameweek 7 Predictions

Here we go! Who else is hyped? Premier League football starting tomorrow, I won’t make you wait any longer, here we go lads & ladies let’s dive right into it :

Sheffield United vs Liverpool

The early kickoff is a pretty hard game for recently promoted Sheffield United, and even though the hosts have been in good form, currently sitting at 10th in the table, I think it would be a massive upset if they were to come away with anything against high flying Liverpool. 0-3 for me.

Aston Villa vs Burnley

Aston Villa were very impressive against Arsenal and unlucky not to come away with at least a point, I think they will be looking for a chance to reedem themselves, on the contrary Burnley’s impressive 2-0 win against Norwich last week makes them hard opponents to beat. I am going to give the edge to the hosts but don’t be shocked to see a draw. 2-1 to Villa.

Bournemouth vs West Ham

This is a toughie, both teams have been in superb form with Bournemouth beating Southampton 3-1 away and West Ham beating mighty Man United 2-0 at home.

I was considering tipping the hosts who have been on mad goal scoring form recently, the thing is West Ham’s defense has been so solid recently, keeping three clean sheets in a row. I’m going to go for a 1-1 draw but expect volatility in this one.

Chelsea vs Brighton

This is going to be a test for the Blues, they thrashed lower league opposition Grimsby town 7-1 in the week on the contrary Brighton haven’t been in good form at all, with no wins in their last 5 games I think it will take something special for Graham Potter’s men to pick up any points at Stamford Bridge. 3-1 for me.

Crystal Palace vs Norwich

Looking at the form of both sides I think it’s a tight one, Palace really should have beat Wolves at home last week but somehow only managed a draw, on the contrary Norwich were brought crashing down back to reality last week after a 2-0 loss against Burnley.

I’m going to go for a rare away win, i’ll explain, Palace looked so toothless in front of goal vs Wolves and even though they lost Norwich had chances and with a bit more luck could have scored some goals, don’t expect a lot of goals thoug. 0-1 to the Canaries.

Spurs vs Southampton

Spurs were unlucky I feel vs Leicester last week, they played well and should have taken home a point, on the other hand Southampton were really poor and their man goal threat Djenepo is still out injured, I think this one should be comfortable for the Spurs. 3-0 for me.

Wolves vs Watford

This is a great chance for Wolves to turn their poor form around with a clash between the bottom two this weekend, no wins in 10 combined.

Wolves will pounce on injured prey Watford and steal the three points in my opinion. 2-0

Everton vs Manchester City

Everton had a shock defeat at home vs Sheffield United and now welcome the Champions, I see one outcome for this one, especially after City destroyed Watford. I think back to back 2-0 losses are on the card for Everton. 0-2 to City.

Leicester vs Newcastle

This is an easy prediction for me, Leicester got a hard fought three points vs Spurs last time out and I don’t think they will have to fight quite as hard this week to take home the three points. Newcastle have one win in five and have scored 5 goals in 6 games, you can bet on a clean sheet for Leicester along with three points. 2-0 to the hosts.

Manchester United vs Arsenal

Monday Night Football is back and in what a way! Manchester United vs Arsenal, historically it’s one of the biggest fixtures in the history of the Premier League, not so big now but both teams could definitely do with the three points with Arsenal managing two wins in five and Manchester United managing just the one.

Expect an open game with lots of chances, but with both teams having leaky defenses and Manchester United being essentially toothless in front of goal I expect Arsenal to get the tough away win. 1-2 for me.
